Originally compiled by the famed local historian Asa Fitch, this map first appeared as part of his 1850 report on the county's topography. The map occupies the middle panel of a three panel 18" X 24" sheet; the other two panels include the complete text of Fitch's original Report, which is probably the most detailed description of the area at mid-century.
