Reproduced from a portion of Robert Sayer and J. Bennett's larger 1775 map of North and South Carolina, titled "An Accurate Map of North and South Carolina...From Actual Surveys by Henry Mouzon and Others..." with information gathered from the Mouzon surveys, this two sheet set depicts the populous eastern and coastal areas of the Carolinas, showing roads, rivers, creeks, ferries, courthouses, settlements, precincts and townships, as well as some large landholders. The lower sheet includes an inset of Port Royal Harbor (Hilton Head). These two sheets cover the most thickly settled areas of the Carolinas at the time of the Revolution.
